Volunteer FAQs

How much time do I need to commit?

As much or as little as you like. Most roles are tied to a specific event and last a few hours. Some behind-the-scenes roles, like social media or grant research, can be done remotely on your own schedule.

Do I need a music background?

Not at all. Most roles are about hospitality, organization, and communication. A love of music helps, but no expertise is needed.

Can students volunteer for service hours?

Yes. High school and college students are welcome, with a parent or guardian's consent for anyone under 18. We are happy to confirm the hours you complete for school or service-learning programs.

Is there screening for roles with students?

Yes. To keep our students safe, volunteers whose roles involve contact with students complete a background check and child-safety training before they begin.

Can I volunteer remotely?

Yes. Storytelling, design, research, and grant-writing roles can often be done remotely. Choose 'Remote only' in the form.

What happens after I sign up?

We will reach out with upcoming opportunities that match your interests, then share a short brief, a point of contact, and what to expect before your first shift.
